The Angel’s Descent: A Lament from the Abyss
In the vast tapestry of poetic exploration, „The Angel’s Descent” emerges as a haunting ode to the fallen, weaving a tale of an angelic being cast into the depths of despair. Drawing inspiration from the gothic undertones of Edgar Allan Poe, this poem delves deep into the psyche of the forsaken, painting a vivid picture of loss, longing, and the eternal struggle between light and darkness. As we journey through its verses, we are invited to bear witness to the angel’s tragic fall, and in doing so, reflect upon our own battles with hope and desolation.

The Angel’s Descent
In the shadowed realm of perdition’s door,
An angel exiled, forevermore.
With wings once radiant, now torn by spite,
Lost in the modern, yet haunted by twilight.
Crimson tears from eyes do bleed,
From a soul that’s been decreed.
A fleeting thought, in the abyss thrown,
Deserted, forsaken, utterly alone.
A lone ember in the desolate waste,
Far from grace, by sorrow embraced.
Bearing the burden of a life once divine,
Now immersed in agony, without a sign.
Luminance fades to the darkest shade,
As shadows twist in a sinister parade.
Thoughts once pure, now tainted with fear,
Joy’s facade crumbles, revealing a tear.
In this realm of dread, I confine,
Sinking deeper into despair’s brine.
Through chaotic realms, aimlessly I’ve trod,
Lured by the silent siren of a cruel god.
