Abyss: Pathway to the Infinite

I knock on doors that only close,

Through clouds that tear apart,

I gaze above, the void it shows,

My life, a shattered heart.

Into my barren soul,

I peer, No sign of life I see,

Just earthen brown, devoid of cheer,

And heart as cold can be.

Alone at night, I shiver, stand,

A shadow looms ahead,

In dreams, it takes my trembling hand,

Feeding on life it’s bled.

Hollow thoughts beckon in dreams,

Like torches on eve’s brink,

But my dream’s a prison, it seems,

Like stars that fade and sink.

Alone on earth, I stand and yearn,

Desire knocks me down,

Into the grave, I twist and turn,

My dreams, in sorrow drown.
